This is from Fox News (which I am already suspect). The video states that two of the Wisconsin laws are that a minor can drink in a bar if accompanied by a parent or guardian and it takes 5 DUIs to receive a felony. If anyone knows where this is in the lawbooks, let me know.
Update
One of our listeners, Kate emailed me and let me know that these laws are true. Here is the link to the underaged drinking law.
Also Jeff Bentoff, a friend of the station sent this link to a New York Times article regarding Wisconsin drinking laws and history.
Let me know what you think:

Yea I saw this article too and first thought this was a mistake. But I ask a few bartenders that I know and yes the allowing of minors to drink is legal. Generally though most bars would still say no to this request.
Thanks Dave for the information.
FOX NEWS should be banned from the airwaves…
Okay, yes kids can be in bars, that’s because the MAJORITY of Wisconsin is rural and “woodsy”. I spent a lot of time in a bar with my family in Rhinelander as a kid. It doesn’t mean kids are gettin’ f-ed up all over the state. And If I had some wine or beer when I was 17 with my grandparents, it was better than me sneakin’ around drinking at a high school party.
In Europe, the drinking rules are the opposite of ours. Younger drinking ages… older driving ages.
Which leads to DUI issue. THAT IS REALLY BACKWARDS HERE! I know many people who have gotten multiple DUIs. It’s not safe or responsible. In Michigan you can’t drive for years after getting a DUI.
Let the kids go with their Dad’s and Uncles to the shack tavern, and get the Drunk Drivers off the road!!!!!
