I’m very excited to welcome the band Toby into the studio this afternoon at about 4:30 pm. Toby is the name of the band as well as their dynamic vocalist Toby Beard. They are generating quite a buzz and have won over some well known fans including Victor DeLorenzo of the Violent Femmes.

Toby’s performances are a perfect fusion of roots, blues, jazz, reggae, Latin and rock with the underlying passionate vocals from  Beard. Think raw, yet controlled female vocals, along with dynamic guitar playing, an array of emotive, sincere, untamed lyrics about love, travel and devotion – add to the mixture a solid base of drums and electric bass guitar.

They are stripping down their line-up a little bit for the in studio performance but you can catch the full blown band at Summerfest tomorrow.
